I’d like to introduce you to the most beautiful girl in Melbourne.
I took this photo in April, about a week or two after she first appeared. I’d spotted her from my bus on the way to university and had fallen for her instantly.
Melbourne is my home and this is one of the many reasons I adore it. This huge, eccentric mural is considered commonplace. Melbourne is just a bit groovy like that.
I haven’t been home since June, so I hope that she’s still there at her home on the corner of Fitzroy St and Johnston St, Fitzroy, with her inky, imploring eyes staring out at me every morning. Even if the bus zooms past and I only catch a glimpse of her.
